Here’s a quick review of Travis’ “Utopia” album that took him 5 years to make. Two sentences per track cuz I know y’all feeble minded, low attention span havin ass mufuckas got hella ADHD so, let’s get to it…

1. HYAENA
Solid intro. His best album intro in his discography.

2. THANK GOD
I’m not reading any of the credits, so I don’t know who did, or is on, what. I like the dark ominous beat on this one.

3. MODERN JAM
Okay, I’m fuckin with this one. Got a retro b-boy/old-school hip-hop vibe that my old ass likes.

4. MY EYES
This one is weird with all the vocal distortion and bullshit. He shoulda tossed this shit sandwich in the trash bin on his desktop.

5. GOD’S COUNTRY
The slow, hypnotic beat is pretty dope. Did him and Kylie ever “leak” a sex tape, I can’t remember?

6. SIRENS
This album sounds and feels expensive as fuck, don’t it? You think the ghosts of those that died at AstroWorld haunt his dreams at night?

7. MELTDOWN
Obviously, I like this one cuz I’m a huge OVO thot but I really wish he’d leave Pusha alone. Pusha gonna hurt that man’s feelings again, watch.

8. FEIN
I heard this is one of the more popular records on the album. Back to Drake tho, I hope Pharrell comes out of nowhere and ether’s Aubrey, haha.

9. DELRESTO (ECHOES)
This is the one with Beyonce. I’m sure this one costed a hundred bajillion dollars.

10. I KNOW ?
My favorite track upon second listen. This one stood out the first time I gave the album a run through.

11. TOPIA TWINS
Twin bitches on a jet ski honestly don’t really do anything for me. Are they blasian, though?

12. CIRCUS MAXIMUS
Travis’ version of Black Skinhead, which is off an album people are saying this album is copying, not realizing Yeezus came from Travis. I don’t got time to dive deeper.

13. PARASAIL
This one’s a lil too slow for me. Falling asleep typing this shit.

14. SKITZO
Another stand out track for me. This is probably the one I’ll replay the most for the next few days.

15. LOST FOREVER
This shit got Westside Gunn and produced by Alchemist, mufucka! You already know how I feel about this, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!

16. LOOOVE
This was made for white women in the club. Another one that needs to go directly into the fuggin trash bin.

17. K-POP
I like this one a lot but mainly because Weeknd on it. Funny that Pharrell is in the video for this song considering the Drake shit.

18. TELEKINESIS
Solid features from Future and SZA. Aye, remember when Tory Lanez tried to fight Travis inside of a trailer a few years back, cuz I do.

19. TIL FURTHER NOTICE
I don’t like this as the last record. He shoulda ended this shit with the previous track.

Okay, so there you have it. I give it 3 out of 5 Blue Chews. That may change to 4 Blue Chews after a few more listens, idk. Pretty good album, though. Definitely my favorite out of his discography. I sure wish there was a sex tape, though.

Utopia just dropped, so just to be an old head hatin’ ass mufucka tonight (see post below) I decided to share a classic video from another rapper from Houston. We share the same first name. You may have heard of him.

I will admit, I’ve heard from many Utopia is great. For the most part, I believe it. I’ve never really been a big Travis fan (I think we may have done one of his albums on the pod) but I’ll give the album a listen this weekend. I’m still playing Magic 2 repeatedly like a 42 year old rap nerd's supposed to.

Confession: I did listen to “Meltdown” cuz I wanted to hear Drake’s bars at Pusha, which unfortunately I found underwhelming. But yeah, shout out to Face Mob!

Legendary Alaskan producer and one of my very good friends, Johnny Kohler, sent this over to me last night. In between producing for some of Alaska’s biggest hip hop acts (Brother Buffalo, Darius, Phonetic, Madd Angler, just to name a few), my boy has been working on a little side remix project, taking vocals from some of our favorite current rap records and giving them new custom-made beats by Kohler, himself. He was gracious enough to give us an exclusive. Check out the Johnny Kohler remix of Drake’s “Sticky”. I’ve been playing it all morning. Shout out to my good buddy, Johnny Kohler! I’ve never liked this motherfucker Tyga, yo. From day one, something about this goober felt off to me and then this shit dropped and I realized then I’ll never respect this individual and should the day come where I have to interact with him, there wouldn’t be any talking, it would immediately become a mixed martial arts match. I understand this baby dick soft ass mufucker is tall but peep this, I’d just immediately do a downward side kick to his prominent leg (i’m guessing the right leg) right on the kneecap and shatter that shit to smithereens then take several steps back anticipating he collapses to the ground, screaming. Once I’ve visually confirmed dude’s leg’s blown out and he’s not getting back up, I then proceed to run and football punt kick him right in the gut. Kicking him in the head may lead to a manslaughter/homocide charge and it’s not that deep. But yeah, I punt kick ol’ boy right in the stomach, he either vomits or shits himself, perhaps both, I run his pockets real quick, snatch whatever ridiculous ass chain he’s wearing and proceed to bounce.

But wait… since this is a story I’m making up literally as my fingers are typing, DJ Khaled’s fat ass just happens to come around the corner and witness the chain snatch and decides he gonna try to come play superhero and intervene. I’ve been waiting for this shit! Soon as Mr. We The Best yells “Yo, what the fuck!?” I just immediately sprint at him at full speed and hit this bitch with a Bruce Lee/Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat flying ass sidekick right to his ribs. This frumpy lazy piece of shit folds like a soccer mom chair and pretends to be dead. I know he’s not, so just to let him know, I pull this jackass’ cargo shorts right off his body, with the boxer shorts with em’. Now he’s naked from the belly down screaming for Ace Hood to come help but it’s too late, I’m already ghost.

I can’t wait to read this tomorrow when I’m sober. hahahahaha. Fuck Tyga.

I’ve been blogging for years. Granted, I stopped Tubby Blog a few years back (other than the annual year end blog which I just changed the name last year cuz I stopped blogging, haha. Didn’t think that one through) but in my years of blogging (20+ years) I don’t think I ever had contributors on my old blog sites. Your boy has been a one-man content machine forever. But I thought this go round, let’s have friends add to this smorgasbord of random shit. From time to time, I will have friends of mine in the content/media/personality space throw some shit on here.

With that being said, I have a friend named Rayvon. I met Rayvon yearsssss ago through my other good friend Rodney. I think I actually met both of them the same day on a taping for one of my old podcast programs. I instantly took a liking to both gentlemen. Since then, Rayvon has become one of the premier photographers and content creators where I live in Anchorage, AK. If you are at an event here, Rayvon is there. If there’s something poppin in the city, Rayvon (or as we jokingly like to call him on socials, Dirt Dawg Ray) is there with his gear and he’s capturing the moments. Rayvon is also very tapped into the Alaskan hip hop scene. His body of work over the last few years, capturing every relevant artist in all genres, is already that of legend and he’s still young with a lifetime of work ahead of him. If you are a hip hop artist in Alaska, chances are, Rayvon has a file of impressive photos with your name on it and he’s already familiar with your work. You see that Suki video? If you’re urine is dark, that is a major sign of poor health. I worked on the North Slope (the very top of Alaska for those of you out of staters) next to a village and worked alongside a villager named Leonard, who only drank soda. Dr. Pepper, specifically. He was vocal about his disdain for water and proudly admitted to not having drank straight water in years. I was in shock. All day long this mufucker was drinking soda. He would have cases sent up north and always had a Dr. Pep on deck. The few times he didn’t, he was agitated like a junkie hurtin for a rock. Dude’s face was riddled with acne, and I often wondered if his piss was the same color as the Dr. Pepper. Mufucker disgusted me. Good guy, though.

Anyways, that broad’s piss reminded me of ol’ boy. I could never have intercourse with a woman with piss that dark. Filthy. Shout out to Leonard.

There’s been a lot of talk about female rappers lately and how they are taking over the rap world which appears to be the case. I feel like every other week there’s a new female on the scene. Nothing wrong with that at all except for one thing… none of them (I’m talking in the last 2-3 yrs) are exceptional rappers. Just sexually appealing ladies with mediocre skills at best. I’m confident more will continue to be shoved in our faces. Thank God for mute, haha.

When I was young, I’m talking like 8-12, I used to have this problem where I couldn’t go to bed unless all the doors were locked in the house. I would go and check all the doors to make sure they were locked. Then I’d go to my room, crawl into bed and then question myself as to whether or not I was certain the doors were actually locked. I would do that repeatedly every night, sometimes to the point of tears because I knew I had checked all the doors but would still question myself to the point of getting back out of bed and re-checking. I knew then… that I was fucking crazy. Anybody else have/had that problem?

I’ve been listening to a podcast program lately that has inspired me to get back to writing. I used to do this quite often. I think I’m going to bring back the infamous “Tubby Blog” (some of you may remember, most of you probably don’t). I’ll review songs/projects, share things I feel are worth sharing, but mainly I just feel the need to write. I think it’s important to write. Just as important as it is to read regularly (which I also need to get back to doing). I’ll get a logo made this week. But yeah… I think Tubby Blog is officially back. Should I rename it? Idk.

Anyways, this is the first official post, I guess. I would like to share the podcast that re-lit the fire. One of the best podcast series I’ve heard in a long time. It’s called The Blog Era… an insightful program about the era I came up in. An era I truly fell in love with. An era that was/is hugely influential and significant in my life.
